meet Lucas

Lucas John Thompson is a singer, dancer, actor, and teacher. You may have heard him singing in the 2017 Broadway revival of CATS or seen him dancing on stilts in the North American premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies.

Lucas was born and raised in Indiana, where he unexpectedly fell into classes at his local ballet studio at the age of four, thus sparking his love of story-telling on stage. Years of rigorous dance training later, Lucas shifted artistic pursuits to explore his singing talent at the prestigious Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, earning both a BM and MM in Vocal Performance. It was there, after performing in a production of West Side Story, Lucas realized his true passion: musical theater.

After moving to New York, Lucas has performed on Broadway, at New York City Center, on two national tours, and at countless regional houses including Goodspeed Opera House, The 5th Avenue Theatre, North Shore Music Theatre, Riverside Theatre, among others. Lucas now splits his time between New York and Chicago, where he also teaches private voice lessons to singers of all levels.
